when reading this article, it made me realize that living in present day usa is a blessing and a curse. our country has a ridiculous amount of power to do good and bad things to others. when reading about the batwa people it made me also realize that not everyone on this planet has the power to protect their homes just because of what they are and look like. This story made me think of the james cameron film, avatar. the americans wanted what was theirs and invaded the planet pandora. although we aren't taking anything from the batwa people, it still shows that indigenous and not a technologically advanced people can be taken advantage of just because of our differences.

yes, there are tree farm in Atlanta. not the ones we have talked about in class, but Christmas tree farms and such things like that.
if a tree farm is not thinned, then the farm could grow out of hand. although to make more revenue I don't see how that's necessarily a problem.
bear creek valley is an old-growth forest in the blue ridge mountains.
